Karma and the Snow Lion

£10.00

Probably the first children’s book illustrated by traditional thangka painters, Karma and the Snow Lion, written by Jordan Quill, is a beautifully illustrated story about the origins of the pashmina fibre. Karma, a young pashmina goat has a magical dream one night after eating a plate of momos that looked like the full moon. He travels to Tibet, over snow-covered mountains under a blanket of golden stars, and there he discovers the secrets of his past, but who did he meet?

All will be revealed in page after page of stunning thangka illustrations!

The book incorporates a number of subtle story lines ranging from the preservation of the Tibetan language and calligraphy, Tibetan food, Kashmir shawl weaving, and the context of Tibetans in exile today being unable to return home (more information in the reviews and interviews quoted in the main book shop page of this website).

Please note this book is available throughout India at all the usual places and is being offered here for the first time internationally. Please get in touch via one of the website forms for specific requests or if your shipping address is not listed before placing an order. If you are in India, please order this through the usual channels.

Published by Perky Parrot, an imprint of Niyogi Books (Delhi).
